Due to new EU-legislation we cannot ship to every EU country anymore.
This is a very bitter and frustrating situation for us, since we are usually big fans of the European Project. The EU has united the continent more than anything before, and the free flow of commerce openend up a much bigger market, without which small companies such as us never would have been possible.
Now, with the new legislation, we need to have an authorised representative in every country we ship to.
This person/company does nothing more than just forward the numbers of how much packaging we sent to a country. As you can imagine, this authorised representative is not free, and this cost makes it prohibitively expensive to keep shipping to every EU country.
For big companies this is nothing, for small business this can be unsurmountable. If the legislation had existed 10 years ago, we would have never been able to start our company to begin with.
We are deeply sorry about this situation, and we hope that the EU commission comes back to their senses. It is a noble goal to try to reduce the packaging waste and make the companies pay for the waste they bring into circulation, but having to pay an authorised representative won’t help even a tiny bit with that goal.
To offset the costs involved with complying with the new law, we also had to raise the prices for the small koji bags, please accept our apologies for that.
